HELLO THERE, I'M KAITI
PHOTOGRAPHER. BOOK NERD. COFFEE LOVER.

Located in Indianapolis & Beyond

Favorite Coffee

My favorite coffee shop is Main & Madison Cafe just a few blocks from my home in downtown Franklin. My go-to drink is definitely a cold brew with oat milk – even on the coldest days!

Other Photography

When I'm not immersing myself in portraits and weddings, I'm usually working on the other half of my business, which is photojournalism! I take photos for local and national publications like Indy Star, Indianapolis Monthly, NPR, Washington Post and am a regular contributor to the New York Times.

Behind the Camera

Aside from owning a photography business, I am also a dance teacher! I grew up learning from my mom, who now owns her own dance studio in Greenwood. I am inspired every day by my dancers for their love of life and my mom for following her dreams.

Favorite Book

My absolute favorite pass time is reading!  I enjoy anything from self help and memoirs to mysteries and Sci-Fi; though recently, I have been on a fantasy kick. My all time favorite book is The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World. What have you been reading?

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

I began taking photos of family and friends as soon as I could get my hands on a camera. I took all of the photography classes available in high school and by the time I went to college, I knew photography was in my future. I went to Ball State University and studied Fine Art and Photojournalism. There I fell in love with the way that photographs can tell a story and transport you to another time, another place and another feeling.

After graduating, I spent the following two years interning at different news papers around the Midwest. I learned so much about capturing candid, real moments and how to use my photos to tell a story. I also learned how important it was for me to be close to the people I love, so in January of 2020 I packed up my things and moved back home to start my own business. Now, I live in Franklin with my husband, Luke, and our two dogs, Luna and Sarno.

Why choose me?

I have been taking photos for more than 10 years and am a regular contributor to local and national publications like Indy Star and The New York Times.

⬦  Personal Life ⬦

I'm married! And I can honestly say to all of my brides out there that I have been in your shoes. I understand what it's like to be planning one of the most important and special days of your lives! Even more so, I understand the importance of finding a photographer that can capture your love and be able to provide you with unforgettable photos that bring you right back to that special day.
